According to MTU, it did 30%, and I said “most of the work”Germany was responsible for the compressors of the EJ-200, the engine core, which is the component that is most responsible for driving performance gains. The EJ-200’s compressor is a more advanced design than the F119s used in the F-22. So no, it wasn’t just the Brits doing all the work.
They do, but they don’t have to, GE/PW/CFM also buy parts from 无锡透平,doesn’t mean they are badGermany is worse than even Japan at building jet engines. The leaders would be the US, UK, Russia, and France.
The Germans have to buy turbine blades from China.
That 30% was the most important part of the engine, the part that entailed the most difficult engineering and required the highest performance materials.According to MTU, it did 30%, and I said “most of the work”
The HPC is not cold at it’s last stages, and it’s the most physically demanding part of the whole engine. When we talk about advanced engine blades we’re actually referring to their performance in the HPC."MTU’s production share is 30 percent. MTU developed the low-pressure and high-pressure compressors as well as the electronic control unit for the propulsion system and manufactures these components for all EJ200 engines. In addition, the company is responsible for assembling, testing and maintaining the EJ200 engines operated by the German and Austrian Armed Forces."
Cold parts are easier than the hot parts.

Big difference, SK also has decent civilian gas turbines, you can develop a gas turbine based on a jet engine , but not the other way aroundGermany is the global leader in gas turbine, gas turbine is pretty similar to jet engine. So I would say Germany has the knowhow to produced good jet engines if they really need to. At the moment Germany has no real need to make jet engines
