I'm not sure, that's just what the Chinese bbs had. It is supposed to be an improvement over the original WS-13, which I guess never made it to certification.

Here is a link to CSSA award 2015. The third "first grade award" is to project "life extension from 900 hours to 1200hours of engine x" of Gueizhou aero engine research institute. It does not give a definition of what kind of life hour.

What type of engine can it be? Any ideas?

Answer to myself:p

One guess is WP-13, certified in 1994 (that is very old), its total service life was 900 hours (fit), used by J-8II. If this guess is right, the project is significant only in terms of improving research competence and knowledge, but not in terms of application.
