Does not matter much how long it takes but the Chinese will get there. They have the fastest computers today and it takes time to make the best. Give them time
sure, another 50 years.

WHo knows! Ws20 could disappear like the Ws13
when it comes to jet engines, safe not to place the bet on China.

I really don't understand Chinese engine failing obsession in this forum. Yes, there were delays and setbacks to the program but what complex military project doesn't? Especially the WS series being the first proper turbofan China has dealth with. Isn't most the J-11s and the J-16s using WS-10s?

Take the ARJ-21.
According to , because of problems, "You should have seen the faces (of Comac engineers and executives)" said one of the three suppliers, who was at the 2010 test in a lab in the central Chinese city of Xi'an, speaking on condition of anonymity. "There was uncomfortable silence in the room."
Haters had their day. I nearly crapped. Were they going to scrap the whole project? I was grateful for Iqbal's assurance.
Then it hit them .
According to , "The ARJ21 has completed all necessary ground tests, and about 70% of flight-test modules, accumulating more than 2,400 flights and 4,600 flight hours." It is also targetting FAA certification. Didn't we see pics of it making global flight tests?
It can be difficult to handle the truth. It can happen to anyone.
