I wonder: if WS-10 is just 125kN, than do we need to downgrade our expectations to WS-15 expected performance?

I do not how that would be logical, it's not like the latter is based on the former.
The 125kn number seems to be TO rather than max, and there are probably other conflicting papers and sources giving slightly varied numbers.
And a decrease of 7 kn thrust from the WS-15... would that be enough to downgrade previous expectations lol. I'm certainly not dissapointed at the 125 kn TO thrust number.

For WS-10, and WS-15 especially, imho it would be best to just call them in "XXX thrust class" rather than giving a precise number. Small change really.

EDIT: Ignore what I last said. Didn't see what you were referring to.

It says Figure 2, Domestic (ground?) installed experimental 2D nozzle.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried every option.

If you're trying to say my 2 cents it should be liang fen. It's entirely possible that they're exploring both 2D and 3D options.

Actually I saw "er yuan" and I saw those words on previous articles referring to "2D" tvc before and made a deduction... So is that what it is then? a 2D TVC nozzle?

Darn, wasn't quick enough. But yeah, I hadn't seen er yuan used like that before, so I did a bit of my own searching. Those are 2D Nozzles.

Yuuuuss -fistpump-

Good to know they've been trialling a 2D nozzle then...

I read somewhere that the same group of guys thought that 3D TVC was a better idea... even wrote an article on it... Does anyone have the link to the article?

Yup it's a 2D experiental nozzle. The er yuan simply means two-dimensional. Apparently this was from around 1995.

That nozzle actually does not look like the one I posted.... I think the chinese aerospace industry has been playing around with tvc more than most people give it credit for..
