That is probably not gonna for atleast 50-60 years cause China will remain laser focused on first island chain. And even if China developed a large navy with 20 aircraft carriers, it will still not match US power projection capability.

Why? Because you need bases and allies. US is an empire and has literal vassals all over the world. China does not have that.

US has so much power because it has established itself literally on the world system. China is still an outsider.

Through fear? You think US forces the likes of Japan, south korea and australia to be allies through fear?

These countries would literally beg the US to colonize them if necessary. They are so utterly mentally enslaved.

The so called western world is not controlled through fear. But through superiority complex.

The europeans and their descendants consider themselves superior compared to the rest of the world and want to maintain that superiority. This
Shared goal is what gives this alliance so much strength.

Even if US falls, these countries will not stop being "the west", they will just continue to ally with themselves.

They will not accept Chinese hegemony without shedding massive amount of blood.

China would have to fight another world war to break the western alliance regardless of what happens to US

China is already the largest winner of AI. Because China is applying AI to an industrial economy while America and Europe are applying AI to service economies. In the end no matter how good AI becomes it cannot conjure up goods out of thin air. You still need factories and raw materials for that. Japan and South-Korea are behind on AI and their industrial base is much smaller than that of China's. Companies in China that use AI for R&D have seen their development time reduced by 30% and factories that use AI and robotics in their production process have seen their failure rate cut by 50% and the per unit cost of products has also come down. In the future those technologies will only to get better and adoption rate will grow faster. China's investment in AI, Robotics, 5G and 3D printing means that China is going to take the lead in the productive technologies of the future. You will see the gap in industrial and technological capabilities of China continue to grow over the rest of the world in the coming years.

AI in services: elimination of high paying white collar positions.

AI in physical industry: free workers from mindless grunt labor.

One consolidates wealth for the Epstein class while the other paves way for common prosperity.

I am guessing they predict India to be number 1?

Yap, that will boost ego of Indians so much that they are the future hegemon of the world!!

Maybe survive the cataclysmic rise in global temperature first?

Fear, absolutely, they militarily occupied by US forces. Kick out all US military back to the US, then see their attitude. It's like you have an unwanted beligerent person living in your house with you. You live in fear even if you claim you do not.

First of all, this in not the thread to discuss your hypotheticals. Second of all China has been historically inward looking country, they don´t mess in other countries affairs' and they don´t tolerate other countries in their affairs. If you want to do business with them they will do business with you. If you unprovoked mess with them they will fight you and burn you.
I think a lot countries will rather do business that going into poverty and war, specially in the absent of a counterbalance.
