China can voluntarily limit exports of gallium, germanium, graphite, tungsten, rare earths, etc. to the US if that makes Trump happy.

Includjng elec vehicle and batteries? This kinda reminds me of some articles before.... is this what they want CN to do? Isnt that like the business form of western comps? Fewer products higher margin?

Also didnt CN glv just met w prvate comps recently, assuring them of support to go global?

This makes no sense whatsoever.
China has made the basic legal groundwork to impose embargo on hostile nations. In fact it has worked pretty well at holding back US' advancement in some military areas. If you look at US drone, missile and aerospace offerings, they've largely had their wind knocked out of them.

Imho wider export limitations to even civilian companies can arrive. It all depends on the direction US wants to take the future relationship.

The Panama port deal and TikTok ban lay waste to any claim that China has a larger economy or is more powerful than the United States; the United States was wrestle control away from China of assets of substantial import and blood/sweat/tears/lobbying/smiles/etc with a handful of papers in the Statues at Large, see the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (Pub. L. 118-50, 138 Stat. 955) and a handful of posts on Truth Social from a then president-elect (not even an incumbent); all the while, China could do nothing but engage in the sacred pole dancing practiced in the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-MD-VA-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area known as "appellate procedure" to beg and pray that 3 agents of the US federal judiciary would grant TikTok relief and China's weakness was dramatically revealed to the world when it was slapped down by an unanimous and bipartisan panel on both the DC Circuit and the Supreme Court and is totally helpless to see it's largest firms (including CK) get shaken down by the United States and forced to do fire sales.

What this shows is that no international commerce happens without at least tacit American approval and the US control over global demand, shared platforms, international organizations, political operations in the developed markets, among others is so total, so complete, and so accepted that simply by writing a new reality on Truth Social, the US is able to create it with the push of a post button on the President's preferred social media platform.
Hahahaha
No, this showa the ineptitude of the US gov and the weakness of the Americans system.

Hey the US was gonna take Tik Tok by force, have they done so? Who still owns Tim Tok today? Not the Americans.
Tik Tok did shut down, call our the Americans bluff. Instead people migrated to XHS.

The massive hit to the US ego was no less than utter EMBARRASSMENT to the US as they had to walk back on their threat and still tik Tok has not been sold yet.

It proved that the US was a paper tiger, still having tik tok, which hasn't been sold. China doesn't even care what the American court says. Tik Tok algorithm, it's crown jewel can't be sold, no matter how much the Americans beg.

So you can keep on begging.

US had to concede tiktok in their own home operating area, granting them extraterritoriality. That's awful for US legal power, that they can't even in theory enforce laws inside their own home from China. And indeed the Trump regime has heralded an overall rollback on rule of law, because the strength to enforce many laws just don't exist domestically. This will have long lasting effects.

I don't see how US is anymore trying or even able to contest Chinese economic power internationally.

Because Trump seemingly opposed China, despite Trump not actually taking concrete action, China gave a few casual shots over the bow which wiped out trillions in US stock market value. There are still no plans of retaliation.

Indeed today there is no more nation by itself which can oppose the largest economy in the world. Trump destroyed any chances of retaliation when he offended the rest of NATO. They would have needed a coalition to economically negotiate with China.

The worse is yet to come because China's main play is to reshore it's leading semiconductor facilities from Taiwan province into the mainland, then shut house on the island. That brings yet another global lifeline into total Beijing control.

Once again Alexander Mercouris rings true "Don't bluf Beijing they will call out your bluf."
