Lenovo is on its own league for sure. Actual garbage-industry companies probably do more R&D than this trash company. Waste of space and market share, Huawei should be in charge instead

I advocate for Lenovo's active dismemberment which helps Chinese economy. Huawei aside, Xiaomi makes better laptops. Huawei is in a different league.

Instead of destroying Lenovo or kicking it out. China should try to get control of the company and re-Sinicize it. Lenovo is a good, innovative company - it's going to be worth it.

Lenovo has been actively trying to switch to Chinese components where possible. One of my recent Thinkpads I purchased in the US had a BYD battery inside and YMTC NAND.

Lenovo is a great company with large market share worldwide, which is generating big cash flows. Huawei cannot even buy intel and amd chips.

It’s not possible to switch to Chinese components for everything at the moment. All you’ll achieve by doing so is killing Lenovo and hand more market share to Dell and HP which are actively working to decouple from China.

Personally I’ve had great experiences with ThinkPads. I’ve never used the cheaper consumer grade Lenovos. At my company they stopped buying from Dell due to quality issues with their Precisions and Latitudes and have went all in on ThinkPads.

If Lenovo is actually bad then let the market sort it out. As long as Lenovo makes profits and brings in money, it's a good thing. You don't just go ahead and dismember a company for no reason.

A big problem for Japanese firms intent on staying in China is that China seems increasingly able to live without Japan. In many industries Chinese companies are giving Japanese rivals a run for their money.

In the past two years annual trade between Japan and China was roughly a third higher than in the late 2010s . “Japan cannot afford to live without China,” says a board member of one large Japanese company.
