looks like in Q3, Xiaomi climbed in sales, almost catching up to Apple around the world

Transsion also climbed. Samsung & apple both declined.

Let's see if these Chinese phone OEMs can continue to market share. Apple typically does well in Q4 when it releases new iPhone

Yes, Several provinces in China like Shaanxi or Hubei provinces combined may have more GDP than Germany. But what kind of world class companies does those provinces have compared to Germany?
Half knowledge is always the most dangerous thing in the world .. i have read all your massages. you are probably 10 years behind time. let me correct you with facts and statistics ..

you said, But what kind of world class companies in Hubei province .. now listen

The number of technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hubei Province surged to 12,309 in 2023. Wuhan is often called 'optics Valley of China'. this city emerging as a high-tech hub in central China, leading the optoelectronic information , automobile manufacturing, iron and steel manufacturing, new pharmaceutical sector, biology engineering, new materials industry.

1. YMTC is in Wuhan. does Germany has an equivalent ? nope

2. Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Co. Ltd

ELHTZ is China's largest production center for optoelectronic products with key players like Yangtze Optical Fiber and Cable.

3. HGLaser Engineering Co., Ltd..

Deng Jiake, general manager of HGLaser, noted that it was very costly to purchase a high-power CNC laser cutting machine from overseas a decade ago, but thanks to the localization of nearly all core parts, the price has dropped significantly.

4. Wuhan institute of virology

5. Huazhong University of Science and Technology working on lithography light source.

there are tons of SMEs high tech cooperation. i just can't name all.

second largest city of Hubei province -

Xiangyang National High-tech Zone has also formed a military industry cluster with the enterprises engaged in aerospace, mechanical and electrical integration, new materials and so on. New energy electric vehicle industry, biomedical and health industry, energy-saving environmental-protection low-carbon industry, modern logistics industry, and electronic information industry are the key industries introduced and developed by Xiangyang..

.. Xi'an is a world leading city for scientific research and as of 2022, it ranked among the world's top 30 cities and China's top 10 cities by scientific research output by the NATURE INDEX.

Xian is backbone of China's aerospace and military aviation industries. heavy industrialized city

1. Xi'an Aerospace Propulsion Institute
2. Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation
3. Xi'an Aero-Engine Corporation

WS-15/WS-20 engines currently manufacture by Xian Aero engine Co.

4. Shaanxi Aircraft Corporation
5. Shaanxi Huaqin Technology Industry Co Ltd
6. Hanjiang Machine Tool Co., Ltd
7. Shaanxi guanzhong tool manufacturing co.,LTD
8. Baoji Machine too Group

you want moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ? HAHAHAH

Most of China's GDP from manufactuing is still contract manufacturing for foreign brands. That's the fact. A lot of the products made in China are full of foreign high tech components and just the assembly happens in China.
this is wrong too ..

Image

65 percent exports of China were from Chinese private firms and remaining 35 percent from foreign brands in China. in which mostly are joint venture and collaboration with local firms. percentage of Chinese firms rapidly increasing.

you said, China mostly doing assembly of western brands .. you are outright wrong on this assessment. this was true in 2010's but not now..

Tesla getting 95 percent components/parts from Chinese suppliers.

Siemens producing high end MRI machines with 80 percent+ components from Chinese suppliers.. soon will open second production plant in Shenzhen..

Chiron, A high end German CNC makers, they have total 190 people in R&D center in China.. in which only 2 are German. 188 are ethnic Chinese. and company get all components from Chinese suppliers to produce CNC machine for Chinese customers..

German CNC tools maker local research center .jpg

you literally know nothing about Chinese high tech industry and supply chain.

China is already the global leader of 4th industrial revolution.. 28nm semiconductor supply chain has completed. aerospace and Military aviation supply chain completed. does Germany have equivalent to all these ? LOL

i have more to say especially about Chinese Automobile industry but there is certain limit in one post. my post is already too long.
