He is not a fool. He is just fooling his readers who don't know the difference between GDP in PPP terms and nominal GDP. Measuring GDP in nominal and per capita terms, while ignoring the effects of yuan appreciation/dollar depreciation is one way for Western commentators to cope with China's rise. Another typical way is to spread doom's day story about China's demography, as though the West's demography is much better.
China will be the largest contributor to global economic growth in 2023 and far beyond.
China has been the driving engine of post cold war era economy, only DC hawks wants to pull all the world in recession because they can't compete with china and grow their economy without looting resource & oil rich country. Oh my bd USA is planning to invade Haiti because it has oil & natural gas as much as venezuela.
Have to disagree on the last point. Anything that humanizes Chinese people and China, including demonstrating the equality of the human condition in everyday ways, is good for standing up to Western propaganda demonizing Chinese people and China, even if unintentional and uncontrolled.
