Tiktok is owned by a Chinese company. Other than that it has nothing to do with China. Tiktok doesn't advocate for China or advance Chinese interests. When Zhang Yiming craved and bowed to the US pressure under a few hours, we know for a fact that this company is useless for China.

For the last two years, Tiktok has distanced itself from China and left the HK market to appease the US. It has moved its servers for the US data to Oracle. I don't think China cares that much about Tiktok except for a fact that it doesn't want the US to control it.
tiktok was founded by Chinese people with HQ in Shanghai, and was acquired by bytedance. Tiktok was forced, not by choice, to distance itself from its China parent company. tiktok should move its HQ away to some other countries. It is used all over the world, not only the US.

Tiktok has already done everything that the US government asked it to do. It didn't stop the US government for demanding more and pondering a total ban of the app. If the Chinese government didn't intervene, Tiktok would have been a US company by now. There is no shame from the US from committing highway robbery. However, that doesn't excuse how easy Zhang Yiming craved or the fact that Tiktok has little value in expanding and extending Chinese influence and culture.
