It's the same stupid university that has produced Elizabeth Warren a.k.a. Pocahontas pretended to be a native American, not to mention the ridiculous analysis coming from that same shitty institution purporting/asserting that the number of cellphones being out of service in China = number of deaths from Covid-19 and or the even more ridiculous assertion that the parking lot of a hospital or something = number of deaths/case overload.
Yup, in the end, universities like Harvard have close ties to the US government, their words should be taken as influenced by the authorities and not wholly scientific.

Of course, on other topics, there will still be free thinking researchers just doing their jobs advancing science. But in America, if you want a job that lets you research with good funding, you need to be in the good graces of the government.

It's a shame because most smart researchers there are probably way more interested in working for the benefit of human knowledge rather than work for politics.

@Godzilla bro I don't know about you BUT Chinese cook veggies are the best, especially eggplant, lotus , bean curb, chopsuey and many more! The collective West hate veggies, look how unhealthy they are...lol

When I treat my Western friends and colleague in an authentic Chinese restaurant, I always heard a lot of Ohhh, Ahhh ,OMG and WOW moment from them...lol and they claim that they never tasted such delicious vegetables in their life...lol
I mean, most Chinese schools of cooking calls for using vegetables in mixed dishes with seafood or meat.

As much as I have some disdain for the Hindutva led country, it can not be denied that they probably have the most developed vegetarian cooking in the whole world, which in a lot of examples is better than meat.

I think the policy of keeping space efficient vegetable farming inside China, allowing a strong strategic reserve, then outsourcing space consuming meat production to third party countries is a really smart move on China's part. This way, if a major disruption happens, there is enough food to feed everyone several times over, it's just will be less meat which isn't necessary.

Trying to farm meat on large scale in China will mess up the countryside ecologically, and it has poor returns.

The only thing China could explore more is to outsource more intelligently. Avoid giving business to hostile countries, focus on building meat production in friendly countries. In particular, Latin America could provide such an environment.

China can export its own meat farming techniques into countries with more space.

The Chinese government should continue to ramp up promotion of eating habits that include more vegetables, so the demand for meat will decrease as well.
+1 for vegetarianism. if even 30% of Chinese can be vegetarian then it's total food independence. I don't buy meat or cook meat, I only eat meat if it's free (for work events or whatever, maybe 3-4 times a year). Haven't missed it.

South America and to a certain extent Africa can. be easily blockaded by the West's navies therefore supplies of fresh meat would have to come from Russia.

you know what else is heavily processed? everything that's not a fresh vegetable. I roll my eyes instinctively when I hear someone talk about "chemicals" in food. God damn everything is chemicals.
Fresh meat is also not heavily processed hell I don't even buy processed food especially here in Europe where white people have zero taste buds on their tongue. Everything is either bland or sweet.

Edit: how common is fasting in China, I like to fast for like 5 days every 3~4 months just keep my weight easier under control. It's seems like a good way to reduced food intake I'm sure chinese government can find some cultural ground to introduce some fasting days. Like a sort of Ramadan period the Muslims hold each year.
