TOKYO: China has become No 1 in the output of highly cited natural science papers, a development that could make the country even stronger in terms of industrial competitiveness.
Japan’s National Institute of Science and Technology Policy counted the number of academic papers that are ranked among the top 10% in terms of citations and found that China has overtaken the US and become No 1.

This is couple years old but I presume not much has changed. It's still relevant and a very good informative talk on China economic involvement in Africa and to debunk misconception and evil smearing on China by the west. Including the funny tibit on Nancy Pelosi in comparison to how China honours Africa country delegation no matter how small.
The audience as expected was fairly hostile and looked to put China in a bad light. However the guy who actually was from Africa and first hand experience was not having that.
Curious, why especially the woman?
I heard about the couple before but not prominently. Just thought they are another property tycoons. But the names became more notorious after the Harvard donation. There was a mixed reaction online in that some thought it's their money they can do wat they like but certainly it doesn't look good on them.
