Inflation takes 6-12 months to kick in after the money printing.

And there are still going to be significant disruptions to production and logistics for the next 6 months at least.

The inflation is coming. The only question is how much
Dam the next inflation wave better wait two more weeks because I need to order some wood first, so I can refurbish my garden fence cheaper.

The debate that the US has now is if the inflation is going to be temporary or permanent

Obviously the FED is pushing the temporary option. And they say that it will happen for a few months only because of the disruption of the supply chain (true). So there is a lot of demand but less supply available due to closed factories, shipping delays, etc.

However they are forgetting that the commodities prices are on the roof and they wont come down any time soon.

They will just "hide" the inflation from their CPI metric and the poor will become poorer, and the rich will become richer..
no wonder crypto and gold are doing so well; if inflation is gonna last that long, the crypto bull run should run for longer than last time.

The chinese payment systems, alipay and wechat pay should be all nationalized. This industry is as important as banking, oil or energy industry. In another 20, 30 or 50 years, these chinese digital payments will comparable to mid size countries in terms of revenue. Once the DCEP is fully rolled out, all of these digital payments should be liquidated.

Mark my word ; if China were to nationalize this, nationalize that, China will never be able to overtake the US. That is what the US hopes for ; China reverting back to Maoism.

It will be a great disincentive to the great industrialists/entrepreneurs of China to take their companies to greater heights if they know that once they grow their companies beyond a certain size, the government will seize them . Those who advocate for such measures are playing right into the hands of the Americans who indeed will be rubbing their hands with glee. Self goal !

That is pretty much why the government is working on the digital yuan.

@Sincho totally agree and welcome to SDF bro, but it is already happening as @gelgoog had already posted, Digital Yuan is the future, Alipay and Wechat pay will fall under it and CHN gov't with supervise it. In the era of intense China and US competition, the first target will be financial, what holding them back is that they needed each other (financial MAD), its their Achilles Heel. Digital Yuan will be China way of breaking the deadlock and also an answer to American sanction. The calmness of CCP belied the plan action, the Rubicon haven't cross yet (Taiwan issue), if it does, it will devastated the American financial system, the American knows it and therefore the pressure for the Chinese to submit and compromised.

Yep the digital Yuan will become the currency and I think people will still be allowed to use Alipay etc. Its just that before only these companies had data, now the Gov will have the data.

I believe the companies will not be nationalised but I have heard that the Gov is pushing Alipay etc, to set up a joint company with the PBoC to transfer their data there. So Gov will take take the data that way lol

@voyager1 bro question what scares the American the most a military confrontation or a financial meltdown? Right now Biden had just publicly stated that they want a dialogue with Russia, stating regret about the sanction and wanted a rapprochement.
