At this point so many people are disillusioned with democracy you wonder what's happened. I think the truth is that too much of this pursuit of self-interest thing that America believes in and other western nations believe in actually has some psychologically unhealthiness. I mean according to the armchair theorists, when everyone pursues their own interests, everything falls nicely into place. But people are going to be selfish and end up ruining things. And that's why many people are upset at how the system isn't running like it is promised. The people can always shape government's action as well as government can shape people's behaviour to the best interest of country. Both government & people is accountable for their actions to the laws. The country must comes first. Participation on basis of capacity should be the key.
Government can't oppress people for sole sake of keeping power.
People can't make unreasonable demands.
I ain't sure America was ever was a democracy, or any system for that fact. They have been searching for illusion that only exists in their fantasy.
I would describe US as an entity with 350 million shareholders. Take the wealth of Native America out , US will turn into a massive continent of cannibalism.
People in the west still believe in democracy. At this point so many people are disillusioned with democracy you wonder what's happened. People in the west still believe in democracy.
People in the west are disillusioned.
That is what Trump did. The president tapped into that disillusionment to get elected, and he blamed foreigners, previous presidents, and Democrats, who altogether created the situation that lead to disillusionment. No one blamed democracy.
As far as China is concerned, it cannot be bothered with this, and the idiosyncrasies and unique logic of the outside world.
What China has to do is clear, which is get stronger and more powerful, very much more powerful, economically, technologically, and militarily. This guarantees the future, not your friends.
America's put far too much emphasis on individual freedoms and not nearly enough on societal responsibilities IMO.At this point so many people are disillusioned with democracy you wonder what's happened. Hi gadgetcool5Great news!
People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party, published two opinion pieces in two days interpreting the investigation as a move to help, not harm, the industry - even as investors in Hong Kong and New York rushed to sell their Alibaba stocks due to concerns about hostility from Beijing.
"For the platform economy, the strengthening of anti-monopoly supervision will not bring about a 'winter' of the industry, but rather a new starting point for better and healthier development," the newspaper said in its second commentary on Friday.
China's tech industry is important to its development, innovation, and overtaking the West. It's good to hear that the government stands behind it, and that the move against Alibaba is just to strengthen anti-monopoly laws, which are sorely needed.
