This photo taken on July 14, 2023 shows the night view of the Shanghai Museum in Shanghai, east China. The Shanghai Museum extends the opening hours and holds "Shanghai Museum Night" activities on every Friday from July 7 to Aug. 20.

In order to boost the city's night economy, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism launched a "Museum Night" event, with a total of 17 cultural venues extending their opening hours during summer vacation. ARLINGTON, Texas, United States -- China swept Poland 3-0 and Türkiye beat the United States 3-1 here on Saturday, and the two sides are slated to fight for their first gold in the final of the 2023 FIVB women's Volleyball Nations League.

Reigning Olympic champions the United States will meet Poland in the bronze medal match on Sunday.

The summer holiday life has been colorful for primary students in Hejian, a county-level city in Cangzhou, North China's Hebei province because they have been practicing the skill of porcelain carving, which is a city-level intangible cultural heritage.

Some students from Longhuadian village put down their pens and picked up knives and hammers to carve porcelain on Wednesday at a workshop hosted by Hou Hanpeng, a local representative carver and inheritor of the skill.

Since 1991, Hou has been dedicated to creating porcelain carving art.

"This is a handicraft that needs patience and can produce delicate and distinctive work with rich cultural characteristics," he said, adding that he was very happy that he could teach handicrafts for younger generations.

In recent years, Hou has organized courses to provide free training for teachers and students, to enrich their holiday experience and promote Chinese folk porcelain carving skills.
