Police in southern China's Guangdong Province announced on Feb. 28 that they arrested six gangs which had been involved in the infringement and abuse of citizens' personal information.The busted ring is named "16k," as it could access citizens' personal information from 16 provinces. Apart from collecting debt, the information was also sold online. A total of 138 suspects based in 14 hideouts were detained, and more than 100 million pieces of personal data, 2,000 bank cards, several computers, cell phones and data storage devices were all seized.
