Re: Chinese Daily Photos, Videos & News of 2012!!!

Solarz.. The photos is what is available at yahoo.com. So that's what I post.they have excellent photos these days..IMO. the photos are very large 1400x1000. I cannot find that size photo on a English language Chinese site. many times at the English language Chinese sites they post very average photos of exhibitions, the weather, road openings, and politicians shaking hands. Their cultural photos are very interesting. I fell I post a good variety of photos. Look at the entire thread. I'm sure you shall find a good variety.

Does anyone else have the same view as solarz? Too much glitz??? let me know. Don't worry I don't bite.. I may hit you with a light sabre!:p

Didn't mean to imply that at all. It's just that I saw that episode last night and it stuck with me, and I thought I'd share it.

I would say that the photos you post are very representative of what the media thinks China is like, including large parts of the Chinese media. It fools us into believing that China is this "almost" first-world country. Then once in a while, some powerful image, quite possibly unintended, knocks some reality back into our illusions.

Exactly..I once posted photos of school children in rural China taking a treacherous trek across mountains just to get to school. It is my opinion in the last few months I've seen few of those type photos and the modern and mundane has taken their place in the English Language Chinese media.

In another forum a few weeks ago some one was upset because I posted so many photos of Chinese accidents etc in a thread entitled to post such events.

Thank you.
We've already seen images like these all over the world, not just in China.
Anyway it's strange that an old US Navy guy collects every time JUST BAD news from China.
Why don't you show us some pictures of US economic and natural disasters all over the world?
I'd like to have some true and important informations about your country, i'm talking seriously,
can you help me?

there's plenty of forums & photos about the US... I'm only retired from the USN..not life. I still work part time for the great state of Iowa.

I have no political agenda

I'm the head moderator of a well know Chinese military forum. I became interested in the Chinese military when I learned they were re-fitting an aircraft carrier. I served on five US Navy carriers.

The photos I've posted are from a thread I started in my forum showing daily life of Chinese people around the World. This is the third or fourth thread on that subject.

Here's links to those threads.

They're all within my age and lovely as well! Actress Carina Lau was in that movie "Detective Dee..." and played as China's empress Wu Zetian. She did a pretty good job portraying as well.

I remember seeing Zaha Hadid paying a visit in Texas to give one her lecturing session and she was very inspiring and nice lady.

Most creative people are a little strange. I liked the design of her Soho building.

Even though she dresses like it's Halloween everyday (black long dress and colorful make up and sometime colored hair dye).

I took my wife to the doctors in london a few years ago. The doctor was a young Chinese women dressed up all Gothic like with what looked like a type of .romper stomper type boots on.

A woman walks past the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) headquarters building in Beijing October 30, 2012. Beijing is evaluating a 100 billion yuan ($16 billion) plan to galvanize a disjointed and under-funded engine research effort, aviation industry officials say. The giant, state-owned AVIC, China's dominant military and commercial aviation contractor, has been lobbying hard for the extra money, officials familiar with the details say. AVIC, with more than 400,000 employees and 200 subsidiaries including 20 listed companies, has already set aside about 10 billion yuan of its own funds for jet engine development over the next three years.
