China's Improved Commercial Aircraft ARJ21-700 Flies to Changsha for High Temperature and Humidity Test
2013-07-26 12:14:25 A A A

On July 24, the plane ARJ21-700 produced by Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China flied to Changsha for high temperature and humidity test, which mainly checked on its power plant, environmental control ability and hydraulic systems. In the near future, domestically developed aircrafts can be seen flying in the sky and Hunan is expected to become a production base for civil aircraft landing gears.

Having the capacity of 90 passengers, ARJ21-700 took 55 passengers, who were all workers, during this fly. They experienced the pilot fly under the condition of no air conditioners and rapid cooling air conditioners. After a one-hour flight, the aircraft returned to the Datuo Airport in Changsha safely.

It is learned that this pilot flight was supposed to be conducted on the ground with 40℃ temperature and 45% humidity. According to the statistics from the China Meteorological Administration, the weather in Changsha is suitable for the test fly this week. After this fly, ARJ21-700 is scheduled to have its tests in extreme weathers like highly cold, plateau climate, and natural frozen condition. The success in these test flies are expected to get the plane approved by the department on civil aviation to fly between medium and small cities.

Good news, both institutions are new to this type of work so it will take time, main thing is progress is being made and no orders have been cancelled and I doubt any will

Must press on with the work, no matter about delays main thing is to finish strong, this will benefit future aircraft programmes, not to mention C919

If this report is to be believed then it must be an old one since it is likely that the J-10C, JH-7B have already moved past their alleged stages. Heck, the J-16 is already flying in different prototypes and yet it states "design near completion".

Then the report is as follows:

- J-18: that stealth fighter bomber everybody is talking about from SAC
- Medium range stealth bomber: the large SAC plane that everybody thought was a cancelled design in the H-X program
- High speed UAV: Darksword
- Stealth UCAV attacker: SharpSword
- LingLong: CAC naval plane
- New KJ: KJ-3000
- New CJ: Yak-152K
- Heavy helo: the heavy helicopter rumored to be supported by Russia
- Tiltrotor: the concept shown at the Airshow
- New cargo: 25 ton payload medium cargo plane

If all of these come into fruition within the next few years then that would make 2012 look like nothing.

Where's the Z-19 and J-31 though?

Z-19 isn't on the list, "J-31" is Project 310. The moniker "J-31" probably arose from Project 310's first prototype's serial number "31001". As of right now, 310 is planned to be an export only project, so it has no J-xx designation. If it does get inducted into the PLA, my guess is that it'll take J-21 as its designation.

J-31 is not a UCAV, if anything LingLong would be the J-31. From the design we've seen so far, it has high potential for naval aviation, and would be China's 2nd generation naval fighter, J-15 being the 1st gen.

This list is not confirmed so don't take it seriously.
