There is the other possibility that Yang Wei removal might simply be that he was a victim of the COMAC takeover from the new Party Secretary/Chairman of AVIC (who ran COMAC before).
There are instances of CCDI forcing people to admit to crimes they did not commit as part of political competition - so there is a possibility even if Yang Wei was convicted for investigation he in fact may not have been corrupt himself. In general, new leaders will purge old guards (especially if they were 德高望重 like Yang Wei) as they consolidate power.
A loss for Chinese Military Aviation Industry, but par for the course in politics.

No doubt - as would I. It might even be for some petty corruption ("he gave 2 bottles of Wuliangye and 2 sticks of Zhonghua Cigarettes to Tan Ruisong for his promotion") but that would be the type of pettiness politics bring out in people.
To be clear before others jump on me - this is a possibility (as I've seen it happen in other SOEs) - and I am not claiming this is likely, or that it is indeed what did happen.

AVIC has a separate party political committee. AVIC chairman don't control the committee. and Yang Wei is not a roadside kid that you can easily sideline him just for the personal consolidation.

actually i 'm still stand on this.. but nothing came out vividly so we have to wait for more authentic news.
Do we have any new educated rumours about Dr. Yang Wei? Whilst retiring from a job at his age is quite normal for folks in the Mainland, especially since he is a civil servant, the way he leaves his positions still looks somewhat suspicious as if AVIC is deliberately hiding something whilst keeping onlookers guessing about more to come.
