AG600's first prototype/tech demonstrator (top) vs. pre-production airframe 1003 (bottom). The modifications to the airframe are quite extensive.

Check the CR-929 specific thread.
"CRAIC CR929 Widebody Airliner"
on this forum.

Currently Russia is testing the gas generator for the PD-35 engine. They are also testing new composite fan blades and coatings for the engine fan blades. In addition they are building a composite wing prototype at AeroComposite in Ulyanovsk. China is supposedly building a demonstrator airframe and has tested a landing gear.

Wow, did not know the AG600 was using the same WJ-6 turboprops as the Y-9s

I wonder if it'll be possible to see a passenger airliner using the WJ-6. The current Xi'an MA series looks to be a failure. Neither here nor there, using too many western components even when it's not a particularly advanced plane.

I won't consider MA700 a failure, it has set back in procurement of PWC 150 turbo prop engine due to continual trade war with US. It may take China a few years to come up with their own turbo prop, so it is just a delay.

For the same reason as MA700's engine ban, there is no way AG600 will use Canadian turbo prop.

A question is how much effect will it take to modify WJ-6 engine to civilian level economical fuel efficiency. And how much time they need to complete the modification.
