Any more news about international certification of the ARJ21? Or are they simply not going to bother?

China-developed MA700 turboprop to roll off production line in Sept.

BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhua) -- The China-developed MA700 turboprop aircraft has entered the trial-manufacturing and test phase, announced the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) Friday.

The first MA700 is expected to roll off the production line this September.

The MA700 is the third member of China's "Morden Ark(MA)" regional airplane family following the MA60 and MA600. The AVIC is striving to conduct the maiden flight by the end of 2019, said AVIC.

It is developed by the AVIC XAC Commercial Aircraft (AVIC XACC) in Xi'an, in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

By the end of 2018, the company started the major parts assembly work of the plane's nose, forebody and cargo, and its wings are already in parts assembly.

The MA700 turboprop is designed with a maximum speed of 637 km per hour and a single-engine ceiling of 5,400 meters.

The model is adaptive to airports with high temperatures, high altitudes and short runway conditions. It is capable of operating in complex air route conditions.

To date, it has received 285 intended orders from 11 customers at home and abroad.

I remember clearly I have long debate with TP Huang about the viability of ARJ 21 He derisively called ARJ 21 a relic of an airplane and should be abandoned I say no it is viable for regional jet transport . And give china experience in manufacturing . certification and servicing a jetliner. It give me satisfaction now that it is in service and seem to be popular with the passenger via LKJ 86

The ARJ21 is an okay design.
But yes you could argue it is a bit obsolete when you have things like the Airbus A220-100, Embraer E190-E2, and the Sukhoi Superjet.
It does have a modern wing design but that engine configuration is obsolete.
Putting the engines in that location is noisy as hell. Those engines are also ancient. The PW1000G family engines are available.

It would have been fine if it wasn't delayed like it was.

That's the price you paid for your learning curve. Supposedly, a lot of the lessons and experiences are incorporated into the process of developing, building and certifying C919.

GUANGZHOU, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's Hainan Airlines has added a direct air route from the southern boomtown of Shenzhen to Tel Aviv, Israel's second-largest city, according to Shenzhen International Airport.

The flight HU743, operated by a Boeing 787, departs Shenzhen at 1:35 a.m. Beijing time and travels 12 hours to arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv at 7:35 a.m. local time each Monday and Friday.

Hainan Airlines launched three air routes connecting Tel Aviv to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively.

In 2015, the number of Chinese tourists to Israel was a little over 30,000, while in 2017 and 2018, over 100,000 tourists from China visited Israel, according to statistics.

SANYA, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- A direct air route was launched between the city of Sanya in China's resort island of Hainan and Russia's Zhukovsky, some 40 kilometers southeast of Moscow.

A plane with 306 passengers on board landed at the Sanya Phoenix International Airport on Feb. 21.

The air route, operated by Russia's I-Fly Airlines with an Airbus A330-200, is the first regular direct flight between the two cities. It runs twice a week and is expected to boost tourism communication between the two cities, according to an official with the city's bureau of culture and tourism.

Two more direct routes linking Sanya with the Russian cities of Kazan and Ufa are scheduled to open before the end of February.

The three air routes are expected to bring 70,000 visitors to Sanya annually. The city accommodated more than 200,000 Russian visitors last year.

BEIJING, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Beijing Daxing International Airport completed flight checks when a plane landed safely at the airport at 10:20 a.m. Sunday.

The flight checks lasted 34 days and ended 19 days ahead of schedule.

Seven instrument landing systems and one navigation system, among others, went through thorough checks.

The completion of the tests means the airport is ready for operation, authorities said.

Set to open in late 2019, the new airport sits at the junction of Beijing's southern Daxing District and Langfang, a city in Hebei Province.

The new airport is expected to handle 45 million passengers annually by 2021 and 72 million by 2025.
