What are the (expected) stats of the PL-16?
Also, what do those XX-27 AShM and XX-15 AShM designations refer to? YJ/DF-27 and YJ/DF-15??

the PL-17 is the ULR-AAM, whereas the PL-16 is the new short-range ASM.
I'm assuming you meant AAM? I heard that this is supposedly the PL-15 successor though.
Yeah I assumed it is the medium range AAM Yankee talked about a while back. Similar performance as PL-15 but in a much smaller package so they could fit six in J-20’s belly bay.
But what about the PL-15 with folding fins?
Shouldn't something with an entirely new designation be more different, like in terms of performance? A generational improvement?
And I've heard something about a 'PL-18' too.
As in flight characteristics only, or does that include similar ranges as the PL-15?
