Attack claimed by TTP (Pakistan Taliban). I smell Indian and American involvement in this. I suspect RAW and CIA collusion. Several Jai Hinds who came to this forum were proud of the fact that Indian RAW is supporting terrorist groups like TTP to terrorize Pakistan's Balochistan. To mess up the CPEC.
This is definitely coordinated by outside intelligence. Targeting Chinese diplomats in Pakistan is a new low. This is truly disgusting. Luckily those Chinese diplomats were elsewhere at the time of the explosion. If any of them is killed, it'll be terrible. I hope this wakes China up. China can do more to help Pakistan with its Counter Terrorism work in Balochistan. From intelligence sharing, to joint operations. Something more serious needs to be done.

Even the Philippines is now thinking to start construction in the SCS, since they feel that there is really nothing to fear from China, or that they have more to gain than lose. Australia just reneged on a Deal they previously made with China, can China even do anything other than criticize Australia?

It has done nothing with regards to Myanmar, and it will do nothing with regards to the Balochistan bombing, simply because China lacks the spine. Heck, Meng wanzhou is literally a 'captive' in Canada, and what has China done in the past couple of years? Spineless, does anyone need anymore proof? Pakistan better hedge their bet carefully by not putting all their eggs into the Chinese Basket.
I used to think China will be a Power to be reckoned with, both militarily and economically, and that it will also become a leader in the Asia Pacific and beyond, but it has shown very little qualities for leadership.
China doesn't stand for good, , neither does it make a stand on any issue at all, take a look at Myanmar. Not one Nation in Asia or beyond looks to China for leadership. A Nation that doesn't make a concrete stand on anything can never be a true leader or World Power.

Actually, quite a few countries in Africa and the developing non-Caucasian world look up to China and when I speak to Vietnamese guys, they give me the thumbs up and say that China is the future. But whatever you need to do to vent on your period in your own world...

One of your own compatriots on another thread here already admitted (proudly) that the TTP in Pakistan is being funded and directed by India. This is something that both Chinese and Pakistani intelligence agencies are well aware of. Such attacks are an act of desperation. The question you need to ask yourself is, do you actually think such tactics will work? Because the tide that is building up around India is going to drown you. Good luck.
Good answer. There is a good chunk of people in this forum who support militarism, aggressive politics, isolationism and reactionary politics. I don't know what they want to see. China could interfere with foreign countries' internal affairs, inject military force everywhere in the first opportunity and intervene in civil wars militarily, infiltrate with intelligence apparatus and NGOs, support terrorists and coups, increase its defense budget to 4% and build a massive nuclear arsenal. Basically the USA and the former Soviet Union behavior. And I am sure China would be more effective than the Soviet Union as it has much more resources and has no problems with citizen loyalty. The question is what would China gain from all of this? Nothing.

China's foreign policy is focused on building mutual trust and respect. It has a policy of no interference in other countries' internal affairs. It is not a perfect foreign policy. It does leave China very limited in dealing with wicked foreign actors. But it is exactly this foreign policy that wins China so much support from the global South. China gives hope that there is a future for countries who have been trampled, exploited, bullied, and ignored by the richer imperialist nations throughout history. People who are stuck in the American Hollywood interventionist, world savior, big power, superhero BS mentality can never comprehend this.
There are people who think that USA and Soviet Union (also Russia) is badass because they are good at going around smacking some countries and badguys. China does not do that. It's just not in China's DNA to do that. But these folks mistaken this as Chinese weakness.
This is largely thanks to the Hollywood interpretation of a badass protagonist. They like cocky, loud, aggressive, and sometimes moraly ambiguous badasses. Such as guys like Ironman, Kratos, any Arnold Character, John Wick, Liam Neeson in the Taken films, etc.
In Chinese culture, and East Asian culture in general, they have a different type of badass protagonist. That protagonist is more than capable of trashing the bad guys, but is also incredibly restraint. This restraint is the true strength. Examples are characters like Ip Man, Zatoichi, Wong Fei Hung, etc. It is this cultural characteristic that is part of the core of Chinese foreign policy. Sun Tzu's philosophy of preferring to win a war without a battle is also another part of that core.
This is not a weakness. Despite all the challenges with restraint. China has been proven to be right most of the time. Because there is no need to go around fighting battles around the world. China is able to build a military force second only to the USA with a military budget that is only a fraction in size. Other non-US counties who have poked at China recently, have been heavily punished without actual war. For example, Malaysia's standing in ASEAN is free-falling thanks in no small part to its idiotic Sinophobic actions. Most famous of all is BJP India, and all the epic fail it is going through. Australia's epic fail is coming. There is nothing to indicate that Australia is gonna come out of the spat with China richer, stronger, and more influential than before. Same with Canada and the UK. They are all foolish mistresses of Uncle Sam. They are all manipulated, used, and will be discarded when they have outlived their usefulness.
Could China do more to protect its assets and Chinese lives in the BRI? Absolutely. China would prefer to empower countries like Pakistan to deal with the threat. But it may not be enough. In the case of CPEC, I think that with the proper paperwork, Pakistan can invite China to assist. China can do the heavy lifting in the intelligence field, logistics, training, and giving financial assistance. Then Pakistan can concentrate on the business end of the anti-terrorism work. The military operations, the airstrikes, and the arrest or execution of terrorist leaders. CPEC is a shared project. Protecting it should be a shared burden too.
You know nothing about China, its culture and history! You least know about China's achievements. China is not a warmonger like US, Japan, the West, in general and Uk in particular. Have you heard of the elimination of poverty in a country of 1.4 billion people. Do you know China is to put in space its own space station starting shortly this month with the core module put into space 25 April? Do you know ISS no more in a couple of years? China's FAST radio telescope with 500 metre in apeture is the lagest and only one in the world, the US one was destroyed by storms? Do you know China produces the largest shipping tonnage both comercial and military? Do you know the number of deaths in India, US from covid-19? Do you know the number of cases in thes two countries? Do you know the number of cases and deaths in China?? Answer is NO...you do not know period.
