I have little doubt that antonov was involved on this. I dont think that china could have pulled this off without outside help. The question is, how much of this effort was from outside, and how much was chinese? This article makes it believe that all effort was from antonov. How credible is it?

not really sure. I don't think it really matters at this point. As long as China develops Y-20 successfully, it can get on with all of the projects that depend on it.

One of the best if not the best cargo transport ever to make service is the C130, its safely record is second to none, its service record is second to none

In its long history it's served well with Air Force from east to west, and its real asset is its ability to take off and land in very short distances

During the Kashmir earthquake the C130 could land on unimaginable short rough strips of land, and also then take off with a load of injured people, you can get medial supply's and stretchers inside with ease not only that a single C130 could hold enough supply's to feed hundreds of people

All military cargo air craft are designed to take off and land in rough short distances, but very few can actually do that and C130 is one of them

I hope Y-9 and Y-20 can achieve this feat and record , making a cargo is one thing but making it a successful one is a different thing

Looking at the testing and certification process of the ARJ-21 and AC-313 it does seem like China is going about the business in the right way I guess we will have to wait and see how Y-9 and Y-20 turn out there's plenty of time for thier development

I think simply a what-if EW version similar to the Y-8GX-4.

At first I thought they were all the same! :p

Interesting to see Y-20 lifting a WZ-10 attack helicopter, although a very expensive way to transport military equipment these kinds of cargos are a good way to transport equipment quickly and over long distances

As big as the C-17 Globemaster III is it can still only lift 1 x M1 Abram MBT, however I think the C-5 Galaxy can lift 2 that's well over 120 tons
