Probably the first genuine picture of Y-20b's maiden flight (accompanied by J-11bs):

Again, if this image were real, we are talking about game-changing achievement. WS-20 is not just about Y-20. Two WS-20 engines allow for a militaried C919 to lift off. Four WS-20 make possible an Airbus A340 type airliner (or the 1980s Shanghai Y-10, but with way more composite materials and superb electronics). A four-engined airliner type platform (like a rebuilt Y-10 with four WS-20 and wider wingspan) allow for AWACS, aerial refueling aircraft, airborne command center, and other special mission aircrafts. It will also allow China to build its first equivalent to Air Force One. Finally, how about a H-20B stealth intercontinental bomber (combat radius = 12,000 km, or longest ever for bombers, with payload greater than those of Tu-160)? All these wild Chinese aviation dreams would be within reach because of WS-20. Although the domestic engine-powered C919 and four-WS-20 platform would still be inferior in quality to Boeing and Airbus products, at least China would achieve high-tech autonomy in designing and assembling large jet airliner platforms. In this sense, the success of WS-20 would be a game changer. That counts for another one of the MIC 2025 Industrial Policy being achieved, but a way more significant one.
