China's strategy in Afghanistan.

New Testament

(ca. 40) Caligula's legions disembark at the port of Ptolemaida

(ca. 40-66) Mark

(66-) the high priest "Anas the younger" orders the stoning of "Jacob the righteous" "and others" of his brotherhood. Menahem - "no more lord than the Lord"- assaults the arms depot at Masada, distributes weapons, and - "no more lord than the Lord"- cuts the throat of the high priest Annas the younger son of Annas the elder father-in-law of Caiaphas and "burns the records of the Debts"

The sons of the Sadducee priestly aristocracy kill Menahem "after subjecting him to many torments" and redirect the agrarian riot: they go out to kill Syrians

"The events that occurred between us", are three:

(A) the civil war in Syria
(B) the civil war between "the people of the land" (Galilea, Perea, Idumea) and the ruling class of the city-Temple, and
(C) the war against the Romans

(-70) The legions of Titus and Vespasian, Legio X Fretensis, Legio V Macedom, Legio XV Apollinarus, destroy the Temple, fulfilling the prophecies of the Nazarenes

(ca. 80) Matthew

(ca. 90-100) Luke ... and Flavius Josephus

(115-117) Kitos War

christianity had significantly influence on the social political evolution of europe up to the 30 year war, The conceptual model of the modern sovereign state now prevalent in much of the modern world in turn grew out of the 30 years war.
This model of the state has become so ingrained across much of the world that less well informed people have trouble visualizing how a state could be be constituted in any other way from this model, either now, or ever before in history stretching back to the iron age or earlier.
So highlighting how a fundamentalist islamic regime in an out of the way place in the world might not conform to the basic implied attributes of a state is illuminating.

Not just Republicans. Far-right Han supremacists in China are also openly supporting the Taliban.

Xi should start a campaign against those rats. They are badly in need of an acquaintance with the iron fist of socialism.

Why? So of the 1.4 billion Chinese on this planet a few support the Taliban. I'm sure there are some American that support taliban, just like how some Chinese must also believe in the flying spaghetti monster.

As far as I'm concerned, the Taliban did not kill 100 million people to create their country like the Americans did. Thousands and maybe hundreds of thousands died during their reign perhaps, but not millions like in the United States.

Today we remember those Cree, Navajo, Lenape, and other tribes who fought valiantly against genocidal imperialism.

Well said. While the Taliban are certainly not saints, and they have committed a fair amount of atrocities, at least they are fighting in their own land against their occupying force (US) and it's installed puppet (ex) gov

Ultimately as long as they dont export militancy and terrorism across the borders to other nations, and they dont start committing crimes against humanity inside the country, then I wouldnt care.

At least they are fighting for a legitimate cause. What is the cause for the US still staying in Afghanistan for so long after OBL was taken out?

At the very least the neighbor countries should unitedly call for an inclusive government, stability, and then economic development (countries can help here). In addition the Taliban must for sure know that in 2021, the world cannot tolerate locking up girls at home and restricting them from going to schools to get educated

From what I have seen so far, the Taliban have shown to be 100x times smarter than the ex-gov administration of Mr.Ghani. They have been taking all the correct steps to ensure that externally and internally Afghanistan wont regress too much. Honestly, Qatar must be having god-like elite academies if they managed to train these Taliban leaders to competent political forces

I love how pro-war people who are opposed to withdrawal, accidentally admit their imperialism by saying 'whaddabout Russia and China gaining influence, if we leave we can't counter them!" As if Afghanistan matters, what a shitty base to counter anything. This isn't Tamerlane, you can't attempt conquer Ming China via your shitty base of Afghanistan because half the country isn't even in US control or hands.

If that is their logic, please US go and occupy Iran for 20 years as a way to "counter" China and Russia....I beg you...please!

The Chinese strategy is to ensure Islamaphobia takes precedence over Sinophobia and US gets in quagmires for centuries to come.

I didn't know the anglos were pillaging a-stan for its minerals to such a large extent given the security situation of the country, but happily all of that will stop and instead it will be Chinese companies which will be able to tap into A-stan's mineral wealth.
And of course, rare earths which the pentagon won't be able to use for its tech.

Iran isn't Afghanistan... Its terrain is actually HARSHER. Most of Iran's population is situated in the valleys of the Zagros mountains and the plateau to the east. There's almost no flat land in Iran. All the mountains are heavily forested and provide tons of places to hide airbases, radar, artillery, etc. Most of all, Iran's radar overlooks the Persian Gulf from coastal mountains, and missiles can be guided from those long range radars. There's no way to attack Iran's population centers from the Arabian Sea, so naval forces have to enter the Persian Gulf where they're easily trapped.

Any attack on Iran would cost an attacker heavily, even naval forces.

At it’s core fundamentalist Islam is a much bigger threat to China than to the US. There are no really significant Muslim population in the americas. american entanglement with fundamentalist islam ultimately grew out of the importance of middle east oil, its impact on oil commodity price, the impact of that price directly to american economy and indirectly to the economies of American trading partners, and the American alliance system to offset Soviet interest during the Cold War, and direct military intervention tosecure american interest in Saudi Arabia, the gulf region and in the Levante since the Cold War.

With the declining importance of middle eastern oil, and the departure of US forces from Afghanistan, the number of places where America is really entangled with fundamentalist Islam has declined to really just american support for Israel. Gradually fundamentalist Islam will become primarily a problem for Russia, Europe and China, with american remaining a enemy in memory to Islam, bUt increasingly less in direct conflict of core interest.

Undoubtedly with departure from Afghanistan and with it effectively the last direct American occupation of Dal Al-Islam, there is a window of opportunity for America to more proactively enlist fundamental Islam in its competition with China. If one thinks islamophobia makes that unlikely, one needs to think back on the modern America proverb “only Nixon can go to China”. America also formed a de facto alliance with global militant Islamic fundamentalism once before, to hobble Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.

So preventing a de facto alliance between global aim of militant Islamic fundamentalism and american antagonism with China needs to be one of china’s premier long term national policy goals.
