China's Space Program Thread II

Quickie

I think they can't carry on like this. They have to change something. Its only a matter of time before one of this hits a residential property or building and kills people. Better start now before it's too late.

They have been doing this for decades. Apparently, they issue evacuation orders for those areas under the path of the rockets. Still, I suppose not all people especially those further away from the path would follow the order.

Space Chaser I a two-stage launch vehicle with a diameter of 3.80m, a length of 70m, a fairing diameter of 5.20m, and a take-off mass of 480 tons. The 1st stage is powered by nine Canglong-1 engines, and the upper stage is powered by a single Canglong-1 variant. With the planned chopstick recovery, the payload capacity can be increased by 2 to 4 tons.

It is well anticipated of such demage or even fatality, that is why there is evacuation and insurance policy. If fatality and damage is caused outside the evacuation area it is a problem that must be addressed.

Everyday there are tens of thousand tons toxic and explosive product being moved around all over the world, nobody stop doing that, why the whining on the rocket.

Take the recent toxic leakage in US. It is the fault of ignorance of regulation, bad road condition and bad response to be blamed, it is NOT a fault of transferring toxic material over railroad unless there is a cheaper and safer way.

Right on cue, the phase II expansion of Hainan Commercial Spaceport has begun. The two new launchpads will be ready for launch services within 18 to 24 months.
