The GW satellite platform can carry a variety of payloads such as broadband communication payloads, laser communication payloads, synthetic aperture radar payloads, optical remote sensing payloads, etc., to meet the needs and scenarios of different users, and bring all-round technical support in many fields such as navigation, aviation, information security, navigation positioning, meteorological research, etc.
imo only a matter of time before GW gets a separate constellation like Starshield that will provide a common satellite bus for mounting payloads - including optical, IR and other sensors. In fact the Yaogan series is already what the US military calls a 'multi-layer or proliferated LEO architecture', see end of this article for explanation of its principles:Unless I am completely off here, having SAR payload, laser communication payload & opticL remote sensing payloads can allow this system to detect and track military assets and relay to ground stations quickly.
this isn’t built just to provide 6G internet access to phones.
what does everyone think about this?
Are all of those mega-constellations expected to become fully operational in the near future? Seems like it'll be the same situation with NEVs with a rapid price war to the bottom.
Lijian-2's auxiliary propulsion system has successfully passed vibration testing that simulated vibration environments of transportation and launch.
