And does it matter?
Landing locations are not in themselves a rivalry, this is basically science, both achieved the same results in likely locations for a successful landing. Considering that there are few craters with ideal conditions, it is even expected that scientists will reach the same conclusions. If it were otherwise, it wouldn't be science.

Shenzhou-14 crew will have their first time extravehicular activities today.
Shenzhou-14 crew have been in the CSS for 88 days.
The crew have finished transfering the supplies from the Tianzhou-4 cargoship, in-orbit tested the Wentian Lab Module, unlocked and tested all the experiment cabinets, in-orbit tested the small robotic arm, practiced the comprehensive management of the CSS assembly.
The crew also had their physical examination and weightlessness protection exercise, took series of scientific experiments, and had in-orbit evacuation drills, robotic arm operation exercises and medical rescue drills.
At 15:48 Beijing time(UTC+8), China taikonauts Chen Dong and Liu Yang entered the airlock chamber of the Wentian Lab Module and start the preparation of the extravehicular activities.
At 18:26, Chen Dong openned the outside door of the airlock chamber and start their EVA.
Chen Dong and Liu Yang then get out of the Space Station as Cai Xuzhe staying in the station for supporting operation.
They will install a group of pumps for the Wentian Lab, raise the panorama camera of the Lab and finish some other scheduled jobs.
This is the first time taikonauts perform EVA using the airlock chamber of the Wentian Lab.
The whole EVA will last about 7 hours.
