China's SCS Strategy Thread

One thing I've been wondering is whether it's possible for China to set up sonar stations in all of it's possessed SCS islands and reefs and turn it into a safe zone for domestic submarines, similar to how NATO installed listening posts along the GIUK gap to counter soviet subs

Is there already such a thing?

There were rumblings a Y8 went down at the start of March. I was reserving judgement due to the lack of any evidence since the breaking source was Taiwanese quoting Vietnam, neither of which can be treated as reliable when reporting on Chinese related matters.

So it looks like a US based investment firm has taken over the bankrupt Korean shipyard in Subic Bay, PH.. there is already discussions that it will be used to service US vessels that occasionally harass Chinese naval assets in the South China Sea

Confused if it was on the 2nd March or 1st March. I saw clips of 5 airmen’s return to their hometown/family so far and 1 had a plaque stating 2nd March.
