Totally agree. Philippines has been a semi-US colony for a long time. The US has indoctrinated Filipinos with Americanism since the WWll .

regionalism as an implementer . An example is the century old Mindanao insurgency, The Muslim in Mindanao never accepted the colonizer , they fought the Spaniard and the American to a standstill to solve the problem the American implement a resettlement strategy and in return the Christian settlers (mostly from Luzon and Visayas) join the fight to gain more land and the cycle continue until the Muslim were driven in a pocket of unproductive land to live. Just like what happen to the American Indians.

You have to had an alternative and it takes time. The Filipinos are getting their pride back little by little under Duterte , that is his legacy. That little Patriotic flame should be nurtured and embraced and maybe it may become a movement we shall see it this coming election. The anti China crowd (paid hacks by the US) are few but noisy cause they control the narrative all thanks to media (all of them were owned by the elites). What Duterte victory had done is question the role of media establishment and the elites and that frighten them big time, so they want big brother America to intervene and maintain the status quo.
