Pinoys love playing with fire.
It's a stupid effort by any of the ASEAN countries wanting to essentially go toe-to-toe with China vis-a-vis defense build up due to the inherent size and heft of CHINA's economy, industrial capacity, know-how, and technological superiority over the entire group. Not to mention that these countries largest trading partner and benefactor is f..ng China."It has also Southeast Asian countries to their militaries and with countries pursuing similar security goals.
However, some Asia regional analysts warn that any further attempt to intensify US efforts in the contested waters could agitate regional partners, trigger China's ire, and backfire on the US and its partners.
"The last thing that any Southeast Asian country wants is for this to spill over into an active conflict," Bill Hayton, an associate fellow with Chatham House's Asia-Pacific program, told Business Insider."
That's the point of this entire startup conflict with the Philippines. Make sure everyone is poor again, and them thinking that the USA will back them will be the richest in the region. It's a stupid effort by any of the ASEAN countries wanting to essentially go toe-to-toe with China vis-a-vis defense build up due to the inherent size and heft of CHINA's economy, industrial capacity, know-how, and technological superiority over the entire group. Unless these ASEAN countries can make more money and receive influx of much needed investments for their respective population that's yearning for real tangible economic development and rise to their standards of living from the collective west then, please go ahead antagonize China to your heart's content. But that day is and will not arrive anytime soon or even at all.
Well it's stupid to think that ASEAN is even united in the first place. Like the Cambodians, Vietnamese and the Thais can't stop fighting each other. And dosen't the Pinoys have a dispute with Malaysia of Sabah? It's a stupid effort by any of the ASEAN countries wanting to essentially go toe-to-toe with China vis-a-vis defense build up due to the inherent size and heft of CHINA's economy, industrial capacity, know-how, and technological superiority over the entire group. There's no need to mention that silly dispute as it's pretty much insignificant in the greater scope of things that really concerns the Philippines. Although that dispute "might" have some historical and legal bases, it gets overblown disproportionately to almost nationalistic level down south. Common Filipinos are fooled into thinking they'll get a piece of what Sabah has to offer without thinking it's just another "regain lost wealth" quick rich scheme from the jealous Filipino relatives of Brunei royalty.Well it's stupid to think that ASEAN is even united in the first place. We need the get India the F out of there as early as possible so they don't F this up too. I know there's no BRICS protocol for expelling a member but everybody needs to just get to together in one meeting and all tell India we're throwing you out; this is your last meeting. No argument, no paper work, no appeals process, nothing. We've deleted you from the computer system."Japan worries about shifting allegiances as Malaysia, Thailand seek Brics membership
