A reminder that whatever the side or the politics at hand are, people directly involved have to follow their orders to the best of their abilities, and try to endure, whatever the odds.

From both sides of the dispute, these are real people, with families, loved ones, people they care deeply about. Their duty and professionalism shows, and puts them into situations that can be nerve wracking and outright deadly. Respect is due.
Despite the territory being uninhabited and far from civilian activity, they were still involved with planning territorial aggression.

I'd overall like for there to be more mutual respect, but standards aren't set by China alone but based on the opinions of all major international countries, especially those in conflicts. I'm ready to reciprocate to anti-China invaders the same level of courtesy and respect to families as NATO is ready to extend to anti-US invaders.

Looks like Philippine coast guard just added their version of phased array radar to their ship.
Well Bro TBH, Marcos had been dupe, he was given assurance by the US and Japan (the reason why Tarriela and Teodoro is so upbeat) BUT was left high and dry. He can't back out and loose face, you have heard Marcos plea when he visited Japan when both of them had issued a joint statement of solidarity BUT nobody in the Brandon administration is listening. Now with the a possible conflict in West Asia Marcos had to swallow the shame and back out as the sailors are close to mutiny. The ramblings among the junior officers and the rank and file is real, with those station in Mindanao among the loudest. What you need is a Keg to ignite the flame of revolt and there are many with the biggest one is Duterte. We are entering a critical stage with the coming 2025 election whether Marcos can hold the Majority in the House of Representative and the Senate, they had been buying the incumbent senators and congressman with gold to discredit the Dutertes especially the daughter VP and had been using guns and goons to intimidate their opponent , a tactic taken from his father.

I cannot believe that the Philippine Coast Guard did not have reverse osmosis units available to desalinate sea water for drinking. At the very least they should have life boats with reverse osmosis (RO) units available for scavenging. Who would go to sea for an extended period of time without an RO unit or two?

They probably did, but there's no way one or two units can keep a whole ship running. Not just for crew consumption, but coolant too.

Also the Philippines has announced they will send another vessel to Sabina to replace Teresa Magbanua.

Manila will send a replacement for a Philippine coastguard ship that headed home on the weekend after a five-month deployment at a fiercely contested shoal in the

.

But council spokesman Alexander Lopez was quoted by Reuters as saying another vessel would “immediately take over”, citing an order from the Philippine Coast Guard chief. “Definitely, we will keep our presence there,” he was quoted as saying.

I expect it will have a very hard time getting to Sabina though.
