A reminder that whatever the side or the politics at hand are, people directly involved have to follow their orders to the best of their abilities, and try to endure, whatever the odds.

From both sides of the dispute, these are real people, with families, loved ones, people they care deeply about. Their duty and professionalism shows, and puts them into situations that can be nerve wracking and outright deadly. Respect is due.

Next thing you'll be telling me to respect the injured IDF soldiers who were just carrying out genocidal orders, or the American sailors who fled from exhaustion in the Red Sea cause they have real families and stuff.

For whatever their faults Filipino servicemen weren’t committing genocide so I don’t think the situation is comparable.

Seems like they were low on both food and water, the level of dehydration was serious enough that four people had to be air lifted.
I cannot believe that the Philippine Coast Guard did not have reverse osmosis units available to desalinate sea water for drinking. At the very least they should have life boats with reverse osmosis (RO) units available for scavenging. Who would go to sea for an extended period of time without an RO unit or two?

You have to ask Japan why they didn't installed one for this ship, beggars can't be choosers, if we follow the Japanese Coast Guard procedures, this ship ain't equip for long patrol duration.

Since the Chinese had frequent encounter with the Japanese in Diaoyu Island, they know their rotation. So they had strategized a plan to effectively evict this ship without bloodshed.
