U.S. could escort Philippine resupply missions in South China Sea, admiral says

MANILA, Aug 27 (Reuters) - U.S. ships could escort Philippine vessels on resupply missions in the South China Sea, a top admiral said on Tuesday, describing what he called an "an entirely reasonable option" that required consultation between the treaty allies, however.
The remarks, which are likely to annoy China, were made by Samuel Paparo, commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, after a

Never going to happen, only Pinoys are stupid enough to believe that.

Pinoys are going to try airdrop supplies next, we're going to see more aircraft interceptions soon.

Beijing is probably praying for it to happen. USN is already struggling with maintenence backlogs, shipyard availability, and all that. Giving them even more problems at the cost of repairing CCG cutters is a no-brainer. High-end warships are far too expensive to be playing bumper boats.

Teresa Magbanua has a helicopter deck (like most coast guard cutters), so they might try using that instead. Size and weight are obvious constraints though.
It has a helicopter deck, but it doesn't mean that the ship itself has an operational chopper capable of conducting mission that's dangerous to the pilot and crew operating in an environment that's not exactly HZ/WZ but not hospitable either.

Training costs money, a commodity that's in a very short supply in the Philippine military since forever. Just because people in the west including domestic audiences are being bombarded with sheer propaganda doesn't remove the unfortunate reality for them that they're strapped for cash/funding/maintenance costs. The costs that are being drawn away from their own health insurance program to the tune of billions of Pesos.

Since most Pinoys are quite math challenged and are bad with respect to their own personal and household finances their understanding or lack thereof of military expenditures everytime their pipsqueak PCG/PHN are obviously being overlooked and not at all understood to say the least.

For as long as they're being fed the WESTERN NARRATIVE of being assisted by WHITE WESTERN COUNTRIES = WHITE POWER/SAVIOUR and Japan ( a country that raped, pillaged, killed their kind by the thousands) by their own media all is good under their Catholic heaven.

Last night's Chahuahui talked about this. By Shilao and Ayi's reckoning the limiting factor for resupply are fuel and water. Fuel is needed even when the ship is not moving to run generators to provide electricity for hotel load, a big part of that is desalination. Even if desalination plants are running full bore the ship still needs to take on fresh water every now and then for there to be enough when we're talking about staying at sea for several month.

Fuel and water are far too heavy for helicopter to bring in practical amounts, it must be resupplied with surface ships. Once they run out of either they will have to get the hell out, no other option.
