Again, given that we know Norwegian F-35s intercept Russian bombers I don't see why it would be any more dangerous from an information security standpoint to have Japanese F-35s intercept Russian bombers.
There's an operational difference between choosing not to use F-35s for intercepts because it's expensive and being legally not allowed to because of some secret agreement.
Then how come we haven't heard of any encounters with Chinese aircraft? I can easily say that the US has been avoiding China because they're reacting to how new Chinese radars saw US F-22s flying over South Korea. F-22 stealth characteristics are supposedly the best meaning the F-35 is less. That's why the spin on the title. Just because Japan has deployed F-35's, not using them to intercept Chinese aircraft, why would China reduce flights? Again is Japan going to fire?
