F-35s have already been running intercepts on Russian airplanes in Norway for a while now, I don't think the US would go out of their way to restrict Japan.
How about crashing into the sea near China? Why would China decrease flights because it's a F-35? Japan going to shot down Chinese aircraft?

Again, given that we know Norwegian F-35s intercept Russian bombers I don't see why it would be any more dangerous from an information security standpoint to have Japanese F-35s intercept Russian bombers.

There's an operational difference between choosing not to use F-35s for intercepts because it's expensive and being legally not allowed to because of some secret agreement.

Correct me if I'm wrong but ICBMs going from China to US fly over the north pole and not across the pacific?

Unless these ABM are intended to intecept medium range ballistic missile, in which case the question is what's stopping PLAGF from ordering a new flavour of DF-26, tipped with the DF-ZF HGV warhead?
This is what I was talking about. Some people seem to assume launching ICBMs with a radius of only a few thousand miles over a single path.

There's absolutely concerns related to launching something like the dongfeng through another country's airspace going over the north, but at the same time I doubt that concern will be high on anyone's priority list during a nuclear exchange.
