Is that Ma Ying-jeou waving the ROC flag there?
Recently Ma Ying-jeou and Chen Shui-bian have been doing a surprisingly large amount of shit talking towards Tsai Ing-wen regarding separatism. Whilst I certainly don't agree with their policies when they were in power I welcome this change in tone. However I'm also not naive enough to think that this represents a change of heart in these two, rather they are cunning politicians that can see which way the wind is blowing and they probably want to be on CPC's good book in the event of reunification.
The joke currently is 马 and 扁 put together is of course 骗.
Yes indeed. It is Ma ying-jeou waving the flag. Yes I agreed with much of what you said. He is after all, a politician, and like all politician can bend with the wind.
But, I think we have not given him enough credit for his stance on being Chinese. During his presidency, he try and forge a better relationship with China, because he's deep down, a Chinese. He also know the future of Taiwan is with China.
But he also have to pampered to his electorates, and given his slim majority, he has to walk a fine line. I personally felt he have alienate a lot of people by his pro-china stance.
Nevertheless, I think he has done a good job balancing this tricky question which every Taiwanese leader have to make. Whereas, Tsai is just a separatist. Full stop. And not only that, she will go as far as enlisting foreign powers to achieve this aim.
She would declare full independence at a drop of a hat if she can. She is just a traitor. But hardly surprising.
Because of her stance. Taiwan has had 5 years of stagnation and, without influence all over the works. The only people willing to pay any attention to them are USA and that idiot from Czech republic.
As such, I think Taiwan would be better off if Ma is still president of Taiwan.
