During a ceremony the Consul General of Pakistan in Chengdu, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu and Director General of Chengdu Foreign Affairs’ Office, Jiang Bin, launched Bus 115 on its route depicting Pakistan’s beauty through pictorial display of CPEC and Gawadar on it.

With engraved photos, the Bus will run through Chengdu for one month.

The Consulate General of Pakistan organized engraving of captivating photos of Pakistan on the Bus 115 to promote the theme of ‘Beautiful Pakistan’ and to showcase Pakistan’s rising economic growth as well as attract attention of millions of people in Chengdu.

The Bus, run by State-owned enterprise Shudu Bus Company, plies the busiest route in Chengdu and caters to the needs of thousands of passengers every month.

Speaking at the ceremony, DG Jiang Bin said that the Bus will pictorially introduce Pakistan in the mega-city of Chengdu and will help strengthen Pakistan-Sichuan ties.

Consul General, Mudassir Tipu, thanked the municipal government of Chengdu for providing the opportunity to showcase Pakistan and hoped that with this initiative, coinciding with Pakistan’s 79th National Day, people in Sichuan will appreciate Pakistan’s real beauty and will consider Pakistan as their tourist destination.

He also underscored that photos of Gwadar Port and CPEC projects on the bus epitomize the strength and depth of Pakistan-China relationship and quintessentially demonstrate that Pakistan had entered into a major phase of its economic development.

Chengdu, known for pandas, is the capital of Chinese province Sichuan and has a population of 15 million people. It is the industrial and technological hub of Western China.

During the current fiscal year 2017-18, national exports increased by 12.2 percent.


According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) report, during the first eight months of the fiscal year, July to February 2017-18, the national exports volume rose to $ 15.97 billion.

During the corresponding period of the last fiscal, the national exports volume was recorded $ 14.23 billion. Thus, in the current fiscal year, domestic exports increased more than 12%.

According to the SBP, in the first eight months of the current financial year, compared to last financial year, inflation rate sent by Non-resident Pakistanis also increased by 3.5 percent.

And during the period of July to February 2017-18, NON-resident Pakistanis have disbursed $ 12.84 billion, during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, $12.41 billion was disbursed.

According to the report, 36 per cent of the import bill of Pakistan is paid with remittance and the main importance of reducing the trade deficit is to be made.

Under the CPEC, two major projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa include Thakt Hawlian 120 km and Sukhi Kundi hydro power project 870 MW, in the last stages of completion, which will bring a prosperous economic prosperity in the province".

CPEC KPK Cell Researcher Ayub Gul told the APP news that the work on Takakt Hawlian Phase-II have been speeded up and the project will be completed in next 2 years with cost of $1366 million.

He said that 120 kilometer started from Thakt hawlian, while passing through Abbottabad, Mansehra, Shikkariari & end on batgram kakot. He said that in this project, there are 2 tunnels at Abbottabad while 1 each at Batal, Karmong and Mansofa.

He said that on Hazara Motorway approxomatly 28500 vehicles will pass by & alongside Industrial Aeras of Abbottabad and Northern Areas will be benefited.

He said that the completion of this projects will increase tourism industry and trade activities in the northern areas of the province, as well as poverty reduction and youth will get jobs.

He said that the work on 870 MW capicity Swiki Kare Hydro Powder Project is going on with rapid pace and this project will be completed before time.He said that almost 70 percent of the work has been completed on this project with cost of $1802 million on river kanhar.

He said that under CPEC in KPK the work is started on the feasibilty of major projects include D.I. Khan Motorway, Circular Railway PESHAWAR Project, Rushkashi economy Zone and Chitral Shindur Highway.

He said that CPEC projects are being completed under medium-term and long-term stages respectively in 2020, 2025 and 2030. He said that due to the Transport Infrastructure of the CPEC, remote areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in Gilgit-Baltistan will be benefited which will increase in domestic growth.

Two projects of Private Power Infrastructure Board (PPIB) with the capicty of 1467MW have been included to the national grid in one year.

According to sources of PPI, steps are taking to complete the financial issues of 660KV Mityari - Lahore transmission line and coal power projects under CPEC.

Under the new energy policy, the expansion of future electricity needs and power plants, along with the transmission lines system will be improved.

Under CPEC, partially power generation has started from various projects of 5000 Mw. Coal power generation under CPEC, includes 330 MW Thar Energy Limited and 330 MW Thal Zowa Thr Private Limited project.
