Wuhan never got shut down. It is just not operated at the full capacity due to understaff.
That can always be done later, there's no need to jump to the highest rung on the escalation ladder.
Chengdu consulate posed a bigger threat to China internally than HK consulate. Beside, it does look like Trump administration would further escalate the situation soon.
Writing is on the wall that San Francisco consulate will be next.
Nah, I think the HK consulate is helpful for businesses. Better to shut down the Chengdu one, since it is quite small (won't affect US businesses all that much). It also probably communicates with Tibetan dissidents.
The media campaigns from the MSM is relentless, look at how they use an image from the net and spin in as evidence of human rights violations from China in Xinjing.
