We can go into a lot of details about how Mao laid the ground works for modernization to pull off.
But since you are anointing everything positive about China's strive to modernity to West, and all the rest to Chinese, like I said before, why would your opinion matter, to me at the very least?

There isn't particular a lot positive things to say about Mao's understanding of economy and modernization. The catastrophic impact on the economy, agriculture, social peace and environment are obvious.

Also to your question. Becauze ignorance is not a positive attribute - neither in traditional or modern China.

Why there have to be a "Chinese Way" that other states need to follow? Can there be a Muslim way, Latin American way, ASEAN way, and African way. This is fundamental flaw of Western thinking. As long as countries can prosper and people can live in harmony, there no need to be certain way and certainly not a Western way that people must adhere to. The so called Western way or liberal international order has become a religion and sacred stone that need to be enshrined and upheld and can't be challenged.

China doesn't practice isolationism. China is basically there where Germany was when Bülow wanted a 'Place in the sun'.

Mao was a political and military leader, a strategic thinker. Under his leadership, China stood up as a nation.
Under his reign, China's socioeconomic yardsticks were way better than before. Give the man credit where credit is due, despite all his shortcomings.

Discerning what is fluff from substance is much harder. People normally don't need to actually touch and smell turd to know it is a turd. It's not ignorance, just common sense.

Isolationism and preaching is two different concept. I only refuted your claim that there needs to be a Chinese Way.

How highly Mao was rated in China can be seen how the Gang of Four and his wife was treated after his dead. Mao's death and getting rid of his political legacy was the best thing that could happen to China, even if the Party can only indirectly acknowledge it - “70 percent good, 30 percent bad.”.

There is a Chinese way. It's not particular inviting because outside of economic power there isn't much else.

And that was somehow China applying West thinking?

Much else of what?

China absolutly fails at selling itself as a trustworthy ally and a geopolitical/economical newton for both parties like the USA did to even their war enemies (West) Germany and Japan.
China completely failed to form a geopolitical alternative.

Well, they don't just know how to do it.
