The US nuked Japan and no retaliation, instead surrendered.

Its almost like it was 1945 and the US was the only country at the time to have created nuclear weapons. Please open a history book.

What you meant "other countries" here are China and Russia who can retaliate properly, other nuke countries India, Israel, NK, UK and in some extent France, wouldn't be able to retaliate to the US

Sure, other countries beside Russia and China cannot retaliate tit for tat with the US, but under what realistic circumstances would the US nuke India, Israel, UK and France for? Unless MAD has already kicked off, I don't see it happening. In NK case, what's stopping them from nuking SK and US assets in the region as retaliation?

Some people on Weibo think that "DF-17" is actually Midgetman-like missile

It is completely feasible in terms of technology and cost. Back then, Midgetman used DuPont ultra-high density N15-level propellant and PBV terminal booster to achieve an incredible range. Now the world's largest N15-level production capacity is on the other side of the Pacific Ocean.

Green = 20m = DF-XX (DF-51 SICBM?)
Yellow = 21m = DF-41 (41A?)
Combo TEL = 22m+29m = Silo ICBM (DF-61?)
