China has been building supportive infrastructure for the newly built missile silos in the north-western deserts. Purposes of some construction remains obscure.

Those structures look exactly like I would expect a very large directed energy installation to look like, complete with a retractable roof building in the middle, energy supply structures, batteries, maintenance, etc. Granted no country has built one of these yet, so nobody knows what they look like.

"SIPRI estimates that China had more ICBM launchers (i.e. land-based launchers) than either Russia or the USA as of January 2026 and could potentially have at least as many ICBMs as either country by the turn of the decade. However, despite this extensive build-up of launchers and ICBMs, China’s stockpile of nuclear warheads is expected to remain much smaller than the stockpiles of Russia or the USA." china has got 867 intercontinental launchers according to SIPRI.

Take it with a bucket of salt because SIPRI says the usa have got 400 ICBM launchers when there are 450 of them. 400 silos are filled with minuteman , while 50 are kept for emergency and can be loaded if needed. Nevertheless, it should be inferred with a high degree of accuracy that china has largely caught up with the USA and Russia when it comes to the intercontinental range launchers.

Sounds somewhat relevant to the idea of building up roads and railroads (infrastructures in general) over sparsely populated areas before cities and factories grow toward them. Launchers are infrastructures, so buildup the infrastructures first before warheads are ready.

OSINT piece on why the recent Reuters piece on nuclear sites is unsubstantiated, and why the locations are far more likely to be Zhurihe-type training grounds. Also criticizes sloppy work across the board.

Look closely at where that facility is located. It is between an electric substation (top left), the fuel storage facility (right), the probable backup power generator (top right) and a water treatment facility (left). Why in God’s name would you choose to put a nuclear C2 bunker here?

Why would you not make the bunker flush with the ground to protect it better from nuclear blast overpressure? Why is it vented like that? And why, if we are exploring the possibility it’s a C2 facility, does it have all these buried trails leading to other support/maintenance facilities? It does not look at all like a military bunker. It does however look a lot like something else: a cut and cover water cistern and pumping station to supply water to the base. That is why it’s in with the other maintenance and support facilities, and not close to the actual base HQ. That is why it has buried piping leading to all the other buildings, including pipes leading out of the facility.

There is another rather simple explanation why this base is not part of PLARF due to the fact that it is not part of orbat within PLARF.

Missile boy summer! Two consecutive 4-stage ICBM tests from Taiyuan to Korla and one hypersonic IRBM/ICBM is going on.

My bet on a new ICBM and DF-27.
