So, in this particular example, in 6th brigade, the unit happens to already have 3 daduis of 8 planes each (24 su35 in total) and if they will add another dadui the total will be 32 for the brigade?

As it seems, eventually even more ... allegedly it also has "at least" one dadui of Su-30MKK and - that's what my source told me - also will gain "at least one if not more" daduis of J-16. Seems to become some sort of mega-Flanker-unit!

lol, feels like a rhetorical way to say 'stop dreaming about J-20'

I don't think that unit was ever on the list to be expected to receive J-20s in the near future.

There are other, more suitable brigades for transitioning to J-20s, not to mention multiple brigades are still undergoing active conversion to J-20s at the same time.

It appears there is little standard that can be applied to brigade compositions. Some have 3 daduis, some have 4, some as Deino says may have even more than that. Plus as the dadui size also not standard, it's very hard to come by with an exact or even an average size for an average brigade.

well.... the 6th Brigade used to be part of the 2nd Division, right? which used to be one of the three most prestige fighter troop in China, right? and that's why they got the Su-35 while others even not started to get J-16 and J-20 in 2015

Now, Su-35 has got low balled in china due its relative incapatative on BVR in comparsion with J-10C and J-16, and their brother troop the 5th brigade (also heritage of 2nd devision) got J-20, tell me if they are not feeling anything?

given the fact that that had the power to get the Su-35 in the first place, and if it's true that they have become the first brigade in china with 4 dadui. Even if they are probabaly still not able to get J-20 right now, but at least people would know about it

What I'm saying is that from a transition point of view in terms of "type to type," going from Su-35 to J-20 (or Su-35 to adding J-20 in the same brigade) would be a bit odd.
Going to J-16s, or adding J-16s, is a bit more intuitive.

Prestige is overrated and shouldn't be a guide for expecting which next unit may receive J-20s.

Ok, think this way, if 8th brigade in Changxing do have J-20 now, then 2 of 3 brigades heritaged from the previous 3rd devision have got the J-20...

2nd devision was also one of the first three troops (among 1st and 3rd devision) to get Su-27SK back then, so prestige might be overrated, but they certainly have some power/influence to do something
