I would say quite a lot, already four training brigades from three PLAAF flying academies are operating or receiving JL-10s, namely 1x4x, 1x5x, 2x1x, 3x3x.
Hi is it necessary to have HUD in your fighter plane if you are having HMDAnother sighting of the HMD on what I assume to be a J-16 pilot.
as someone somewhere mentioning about no HUD for F35 as the pilot is using HMD

I think Chinese Helmet are not the same as F-35 HMD, it look more like JHMCS that currently a standard in USAF. They are use to enhanced situation awareness and dog fight but not replace HUD entirely like the one on F-35.
So, to you question. Yes, if you have HMD that is as capable as the one on F-35 then you don't need HUD but the plane need to designed around this concept. It's not something that can just add-in by replace helmet.
