Quick question regarding the taihang - does Taihang have the ejector nozzle (nozzle with movable petals for thrust adjustment) or non-adjustable nozzles? It is not obvious from the photograph.

Yes, they do have the adjustable petals. Some pictures of the Tai Hang engine even show them to have 2 sets of petals, one within the other. However these recent pictures seem to show them to have one set of petals.

Even a WP-13(that's J-8B's engine) or a WS-6 also has an adjustable nozzle.;)

I think you confused the terms of adjustable nozzle, convergent-divergent nozzle and ejector nozzle.

In short, a WP-13 has an adjustable nozzle, but not an convergent-divergent nozzle or an ejector nozzle. The nozzle of a WS-10/10A is an ejector nozzle and a AL-31 has a convergent-divergent nozzle.

With the release of the supposed J-15/J-11 carrier version, I'm a bit disapointed that they didn't try to incorporate canted tails like those found in the F-18 and the new F-15 Silent Eagle into the prototype aircraft. I hope that there's a 2nd J-15 prototype in the works that has canted tails, though I'm not holding my breath over it. My understanding is that canted tails can give you reduced radar cross-section and a lower take-off speed, which would be ideal in a carrier aircraft.

The way of the design of the plane which the video showed us can reduce the spending of the project and save time, so PLA can concentrate its limited budget on the most important projects like the fourth generation fighters.

I don't think the first aircraft carrier of PLAN is for sea battling American carriers but for dealing with small neighbours like Vietnam in the South China Sea , so PLANAF only needs a carrier-version of J-11.
