Hmmm... every countries in this world believe themselves to hold a special place in the world. Or they wouldn't even wanted to try to make themselves known or heard. So why can't NK believe that too? Is it because they are poor so that automatically rule them out in the international theatre? And why do you say that they think themselves as deserving free stuff? Did their government issue official document to whatever nations demanding food and weapons?

Kim's main reason to go china was to ask for new fighter jets? Could you provide that article from Bloomberg? I would think it is a load of crap. To ask or requested for aide and to discuss about the cheonan incident... maybe... but to ask for weapons?

Plus... did NK's airforce actually had the experience of operating very modern aircraft? did NK's infra-structure able to provide support for these fighters?

I do not know what is stupider? Suggesting that NK demand for fighters that their pilots had absolutely no experience or skills to handle or suggesting that new fighters could defend the nation from the combine might of SK and US.

Oh... while you are at it... why don't you just 'suggest' that NK is also demanding China to give her carriers too?:rofl:

But even without fighter jets, North Korea has plenty of artillery shells and missiles to rain down on Seoul. Plus, they've got free soccer broadcasts, courtesy of FIFA.

I do not know what you want to proof by that. And if you haven't guess, the Chinese actually sponsor some of the thing for NK.

And unlike China, their team qualified for the World Cup. Something, apparently, the Chinese are feeling pretty bitter-sweet about . . .

Huh? Why do you say that? NK is an independent nation, her soccer team can go to world cup... and even win the world cup, what does that have to do with anything about China? ANd why should China feel bitter -sweet?

If you look at it this way... a more common sense way, if our dear leader's actions are nothing but foolish and idiotcy... he wouldn't be in position till now. He had been playing his card well between China, US, SK and Japan, all four powers that are far greater than NK at the present moment. if you reading chinese newspaper for along time whether from ,HK or China, one notice a trend, if there's no admit nor denied, it mean's the story is true.but if there is quick reply within 24 hour,it means the news is just rumor (or lied).
since there's no reply from the chinese government over this issue, it could only mean o ne thing, the story was a fact.
