How many Flankers can SAC produce each year ? I thought it would be around 24 a year. But with the kind of numbers being mentioned here it seems to be higher.

Interesting to see the double or twin-pylon adapters on the J-16 too.
I've noticed it too. I've seen very few PLAN Flankers with the inner wingpylons attached. It seems that the PLAN doens't like that configuration and would rather use dual rack pylons.

Could be that having missiles on the inner pylons would affect the airflow to and thus the effectiveness of the aileron (where it is widest) and elevator control surfaces.

Also range could be affected as lift generated by the wing is disrupted more by putting missiles at the longest chord length of the wing vs. where chord length is shorter.

In the picture below only guided bombs are put at the inner pylons. And it seems Indonesia's version of SU27SK version doesn't have the option of any missile or bombs on the inner pylon.

Huh?, You may be on to something, I would suspect "buffeting" or some other adverse reaction to those stores hanging out and creating not only a lot of drag but possibly very turbulent flow over the "stabilators"!

and believe me, if there is indeed buffeting over your stabilators, there is NO DOUBT,,, its very obnoxious,, when you lower full flaps on a 172 above a certain speed, there is a LOT of buffeting, of the flaps and over the horizontals and elevators...
