Seems as if the long rumoured second J-11B regiment will go to the PLA-NAF ... as J-11BH.

Since there are regular PLAAF grey-coloured Flankers in the background I'm not sure if this is an operational base or if these are aircraft at SAC on pre delivery.

the picture show the aircraft is slightly smaller than SU-27 (J-11) same size as F-18A and MIG-29 ,giving the size of the aircraft ,look like the new aircraft power by either RD-93 or local design engine.
the aircraft could be "Sin-93" or new -93 aircraft mention in wforum.(see new generation aircraft)

Surely not ... these are pure and simply standard fighter-Flankers and only one has a taller tail, what makes me suspicious.

interesting enough, both india and russia has officially selected smaller MIG-35 over SU-30 and SU-35.

IF it does have a taller tail it could indicate that was done to achieve further in-flight stabilization on a horizontal plane at low speeds. Not unlike what a carrier borne fighter needs during its landing approach.

according to kanwa, 50% of component such as engine,IRST still has to be imported from Russia.
despite talk of J-11B as some sort of Chinese equivalent of SU-30MKK,J-11B may turn out to be more like SU-27SKM.
according to DIIC, new technology developed for MiG-1.19,forward sweep fighter were later incorporated into MiG-35 and SU-30Mkk,the main computer for SU-30mkk along is more powerful than EF-2000,but still lower than F-22.

Some of these claims seem to run contrary to physical observations we can make. For example, it's hard to believe they'll need to import a Russian IRST when the J-10B already seems to have a domestic one.
