Is that a production J-16 ? Where is the unit number ?

To admit I don't know but my feeling tells me that it is one from a test-unit like the 175. Brigade or IMO more likely since no serial is visible at all from SAC or the CFTE.

Would be interesting to know how many aircraft are manufactured in batch 01 ? The biggest number of a J-11B-batch was 06-18 (as well as 06-01 & 06-15), for the J-15 the highest number of batch 01 was c/n 01-10 and for a J-11BS the highest number is 03-21 ??

That's confirmed the PLAAF's 175. Brigade FTTC ... but the more interesting question is, what unit was the next ?

Anyone seen US, China, and European aircrafts side by side at airshows? How well does China's worksmanship in the latest aircrafts (J-10B/C, JL-15, Y-9, Y-20) compare with US and European aircrafts? I'm talking about manufacturing process/expertise and not equipment technology.

Without detailed pictures of the same aircraft at similar relevant locations it is hard to tell.

That said, for many of us who have probably spent hundreds of hours staring at pictures of Chinese military equipment over the years, I think there is a general consensus the workmanship has increased noticeably between successive years over successive generations of aircraft, such as from J-10A to J-10B and obviosuly J-20 on a whole other level.
